Cassava grown by Thai smallholders, on land Thai Wah has worked alongside for nearly eighty years. Every order you place reaches back to them, and forward into the next planting season.
That is not a sourcing note. It is the reason the material exists at all, a starch based bioplastic whose carbon came from a crop rather than a barrel.
Sustainability from the ground up.
Most sustainability claims about a bioplastic start at the factory gate. Ours starts before it. The cassava that becomes Roseco is grown under the SAI Platform Farm Sustainability Assessment, the benchmark the global food industry uses to verify how a crop is actually farmed.
Thai Wah was the first company to reach FSA Silver for cassava anywhere in Thailand or Southeast Asia, in November 2023, independently assured by SGS. In 2025 it became the first in the region to reach FSA Gold, with smallholder cassava farmers across Thailand and Cambodia.
This is a farming standard rather than a material one, and the distinction is the point. Our compostability and food-contact certificates describe what the material does. FSA describes where it came from, and that same Gold-assessed cassava is the feedstock that goes into the bioplastic. The credential travels with the material, farm to product.
Thai Wah has committed to supporting and reaching more than one million farmers across the region by 2028.

A root is where a thing starts and where it returns. Ours is grown in Thai soil, engineered to run on the machines you already own, and certified to break down into clean compost that feeds the ground again.

Starch is the easy part. Making it hold a seal and run at line speed is the engineering. A full-time research team and three research institutes work on that problem, and ten grades came out of it.
